Required Documents

The following is a complete list of documents needed for online registration at Limkokwing University, including samples and detailed instructions. Several documents are required immediately upon registration while the rest may be sent after you are found eligible to the programme of your choice.

Basic Documents

Passport Pictures

  • Must have a white background, 35 mm x 45 mm.
  • Must be taken in clothes normally worn on a daily basis (i.e. no costumes or gowns).
  • Do not wear something with open shoulders (such as a tank top).
  • Do not wear uniforms, hats or other head coverings except for religious purposes.
  • The face and both ears must be fully visible with no obstructions or shadows.
  • White clothes are not acceptable as the background is white.
  • Subject in the photo must be facing forward and looking directly at the camera.
  • A neutral expression is preferred. Exaggerated facial expressions e.g. smiling where teeth are seen is not acceptable.
  • Spectacles must be removed.
  • The hair must not cover any portion of the face. Adjust it to make the entire face visible.

IC or Passport Copy

For Malaysian applicants

  • A colour copy of the IC is required, front and back.

For international applicants

  • A full colour copy of the passport is required (not including blank pages and cover pages).
  • Passport must be scanned as one PDF file.
  • Each pdf page must show two pages of the passport.
  • Passport must be valid at least 12 months from the date of submission to the University.

Academic Transcript or Certificate

  • Transcripts and certificates are required from O-Levels, or its equivalent, to the highest qualification level achieved by the applicant.
  • If the documents are not in English, applicants must provide copies of both the original and official English-translated versions.
  • All certificates must be attested by the Ministry of Higher Education/Malaysian Embassy.
  • Copy must be clear and in full colour. The transcript's content and serial number must be easy to read.

Additional Documents for Transfer Students

Cancellation Letter

  • Colour copy of the release or cancellation letter from the previous tertiary institution.

Attendance Report

  • The attendance report must state that the student completed at least 80% of the required attendance
  • For transferees seeking credit exemptions, additional documents such as the final academic transcripts/results are required.

Visa Cancellation (International Students)

  • For international applicants, one (1) colour copy of the passport page with visa cancellation and exit stamp.
  • For expired visas without proper cancellation, one (1) colour copy of the cancellation page (as proof that EMGS has closed the status of the previous student visa).

Portfolio

  • A portfolio of three (3) pieces of original artwork is required for applicants in the Design, Fashion and Architecture programmes.
  • Submitted artwork may be a sketch/hand drawing or any graphical design using computer software.

CV, Reference and Recommendation Letter

Curriculum Vitae

  • A curriculum vitae or resume is required for all applicants 25 years old and above.

Reference or Recommendation Letter

  • A reference or recommendation letter is required only for post-graduate applicants.
  • It must be a clear, colour copy and printed on company or university letterhead, with official stamp.
  • It must be signed by the previous employer or lecturer, with their full name and contact details.

Other Documents

No Objection Certificate (NOC)

  • A No Objection Certificate (NOC) letter is required for students from Sudan only.
  • The document should be applied for by the institution from the respective Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • The NOC letter must be printed on a letterhead. The content must be clear and must include the following: a reference number, date of Issuance; name, position and signature of the person in-charge; and an official seal or certified true copy stamp.

Eligibility Letter

  • Required only for students from Iran.
  • The Eligibility Letter must be issued by the Iranian Embassy in Malaysia. It must state that the student is eligible to pursue the programme he or she is applying for.
  • It must be printed on a letterhead. The content must be clear and must include the following: a reference number; date of issuance; name, position and signature of the person in-charge; an official stamp or certified true copy stamp.

Affidavit Letter

  • Required only for students with a discrepancy in the name printed in their passport and academic transcripts.
  • To be issued by the student's local Ministry of Education or by their home country Embassy/Consulate in Malaysia.
  • Must be printed on a letterhead. The content must be clear and must include the following: a reference number; date of issuance; name, position and signature of the person in-charge; an official stamp or certified true copy stamp.

Scratch Card

  • A colour copy of the Scratch Card is required for students from countries in Africa under jurisdiction of the West African Examinations Council such as Nigeria, Liberia, Gambia or Ghana.
  • These students are required to provide their West African Senior School Certificate together with the Scratch Card. The card may be obtained by contacting www.waecdirect.org
  • Prior to an evaluation being issued, the serial number and pin number of the scratch card must be provided.

Medical Report

For all International students

  • All international students must undergo a pre-medical check-up in their respective countries.
  • A colour copy of the full health examination report from the hospital is needed, including the Lab Report and the Chest X-ray Report. All should be completed in the English Language.
  • Every single page of the completed health examination form must be signed by the doctor and stamped by the hospital,
  • The health exam must have been conducted recently and should not exceed six (6) months.
  • The name and passport number stated in the health examination form must be correct and should match those in the applicant's official documents.
  • If available in their country, it is recommended that international students complete their premedical check-up at an EMGS overseas panel clinic.

For students from India and Sri Lanka

  • All applicants from India and Sri Lanka must complete their pre-medical check-up from an EMGS overseas panel clinic,
  • All medical examination reports in these two countries are updated using an online system. Thus, Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) will not accept any hard copy of medical reports from India and Sri Lanka.
